This study is available to patients who have received care at MedStar Health and have a referral for Lung Cancer Screening
Who is Eligible to Participate in the TEAL Study?
You are eligible to participate in the TEAL study if you...
Have received a referral for lung cancer screening from your MedStar provider,
Are 50-80 years old,
Have a minimum of a 20 pack-year cigarette smoking history,
Have smoked cigarettes within the past 30 days, and
Are able to communicate over-the-phone in English
Who is not Eligible to Participate in the TEAL Study?
If any of these apply to you, you are not eligible to participate in this study.
Diagnosed with lung cancer in the past
Hearing impairment that makes talking on the phone difficult
A household member has already enrolled in this study
What are 'Pack-years'?
Calculating 'pack-years' is a way to measure a person's lifetime history of cigarette smoking.
To be eligible for lung cancer screening and for this study, an individual must have 20 pack-years or more.
